The Mysterious Pianist.

Best Friend and I did a little something different this week for our standing date.

We travelled to the most elegant Italian restaurant in our area.  We entered the restaurant through the glass and wooden doors and found ourselves in the lounge – our favorite room of the place, by the way.  We met the hostess, who directed us to the main dining rooms.  We proceeded there.

Soon we were seated in a high-back booth and placed our drink orders.  A Peroni for Best Friend, and a pinot noir for moi.  Our waitress also brought hot fresh bread slices with herbed olive oil.  I was in heaven.

The two of us conversed and went about discussing our day.  Before long, Best Friend’s pollo con verdure and my spaghetti and meals balls arrived at our table.  It was delicious.

Then the music began.  The pianist played a nondescript melody softly in the background.

We enjoy that type of dining music.  The funniest thing about it is that the melodies came in through the speakers.  There was no live pianist.
